What makes a desert racer? Is it the moment you pull up to the desert, waiting for the sun to rise so you can gear up and ride,or is it the moments you spend with your weekend family - bench racing/racing, talking about the whoops and course, figuring out what sections you can do without (cmon you have all done it) or is it the friends/family you make every weekend, year after year, do or die you will be there seeing their friendly faces? ...

Or was it the guy who loves racing so much he would wrench all night for those who his team did NOT support because he loved what he could do?????Its all of these things!!!!!! You dont have to win to be something great! All you have to do is show up with a smile on your face and passion in your heart. That was Dave Chase!!!! Ready to ride, ready to support, ready to make them go faster!!!!! But did I mention he always had a huge (sometimes sarcastic in a great way smile on his face?) Yah, thats the Dave I remember!!!!!!! But dont think that is all I remember, he was amazing in the heart... he was ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS was there for ANYONE who needed his support, and he NEVER asked for anything!!!! Not only did I get to see this part of him, but I was there for fun times as well. Just a few (1983 to 1999) but enough to make me smile at his personality... and what a personality he had... fun, witty, smart, and very much a kid at heart when time permitted! I hope this short but true memory finds comnfort to his family and girlfriend. Dave is one AMAZING Man~~~ I ONLY WISH I HAD ONE MORE MOMENT TO SAY IT TO HIM
And if i could I would hug him tight and tell him I thought the world of him!!!!!! RIP Dave!
